It took longer than we wanted for reasons I won’t bore you with, but the recording of the 2nd Annual  2-Day Asset Protection Society Forum that was held in the fall of ’08 is finally ready.

As you may know, the APS™ puts on a very unique and one-of-a-kind educational/networking experience through its once-a-year Forum.

We had a terrific turn out and reviews from the  1st APS™ forum in 2007.   If you did not attend that seminar or buy the DVDs, you can learn about the subjects covered and how you can obtain a copy of the DVDs by clicking here.

In 2008 we also had a terrific turn out for what I think was actually a better Forum than our 1st annual Forum.  See the topics covered below (to learn more about each one, simply click on its title). The topics covered were:

1.     Introduction to the APS™ and the Forum
2.     Asset Protection Planning—By Jim Duggan, J.D., M.B.A.
3.     Family Office Structures—By: Jim Duggan, J.D., M.B.A.
4.     Physician Captives insurance structures for Malpractice Insurance—By: Mark Jacobs
5.     The Pension Protection Act and new planning opportunities —By: Bill Magnuson
6.     Superflex (a new more discriminatory profit sharing plan):  By: Bill Magnuson
7.     Small and more affordable Captives Insurance Companies—By: Steve Donaldson
8.     Capital Split Dollar—By: Stanley Mountford
9.     College Planning (including the use of life insurance as a tool)—By: Jim Van Meter
10.   Pension Rescue—By: Allen Grosnick
11.   Income for Life Planning—by: Mike Duncan
12.   Case Studies (clients under 5-million and over 5-million: By: Roccy DeFrancesco & Jim Duggan

-We understand that not everyone can make it to an in-person seminar due to scheduling conflicts.

-We know not everyone can allocate the dollars to come in-person (and we know that 2008 was a tough year financially for advisors too).

-We also know that it is vitally important for advisors to be well armed with the best information so they can provide the “best” advice to their clients as well as posture themselves to obtain more clients because of their unique knowledge and abilities.

Selfishly speaking, I believe the two APS™ Forums are two of the better, if not the best, 2-day educational seminars in the industry.  The APS™ is not paid off by vendors who want to speak in front of a crowd of financial planners, insurance agents, etc.  The APS™ does not have dozens of breakout sessions that have only a few attendees at each one (which hurts an organization’s ability to recruit good speakers).

In fact, the APS™ does not pay its speakers to speak and the speakers even pick up their own expenses for what we believe is the privilege of speaking at the APS™ Annual Forums.

What do the previous paragraphs mean?  It means that the APS™ really does have some of the top “experts” in the country speak at its Forums and you should take every opportunity to learn from them so you can improve your practice; and, equally as important, avoid lawsuits.

MP3 recording

This year we ended up going with an MP3 recording of the Forum instead of video DVDs.  To get the quality we wanted with the DVDs we would have had to burn nearly 10 DVDs this year.  That seemed like a bit much and last year we had many requests just for the audio recording of the Forum so advisors could listen to it on their iPods or in their cars, etc.  Therefore, this year you will receive one disk with all of the sessions on it in MP3 format.

PowerPoint Presentations

Not only do you get the MP3 recording of the 2-day Forum, but you also will receive the PowerPoint presentations from all of the speakers.

Cost of the MP3 recording and PowerPoint presentations?

For those who attended the 08 Forum:                                                             $75

For those who did not attend the 08 Forum:                                                    $100

For CWPP™, CAPP™ and MMB™ advisors or APS™ members:                   $75

For advisors licensed to sell insurance through  Strategic Marketing Partners
(SMP is subsidizing the cost for its advisors):                                                 $75

Jim Duggan is a nationally recognized family office design expert and really do a great job with this very powerful planning tool.

-I think the case studies at the end alone are worth the cost of purchase.

-I think the PowerPoint Presentations without the audio are worth the cost of purchase.

The bottom line, if you couldn’t make the seminar and want to learn some really useful information that you can use to help you build your business and provide better advice, then you should not pass up this opportunity to purchase the MP3 CD and PowerPoint Presentations.  It’s a steal at the price we are charging and you’d be supporting the APS™ which would be nice as well.
