Who is Tamara?
I grew up in Michigan to a small family in a small town, where I learned all those small town values that everyone cherishes today: family, community and nature. I highly value families in all their myriad forms, I strive to give back to my community through volunteerism, and I try to tread lightly over what is not mine to own.
With 14 years of experience in the financial planning field, I am able to give my clients the knowledge, advice and information for them to make the most informed decisions. Our decisions are based on a solid foundation of trust, respect and knowledge, and we work side by side in planning their future.
I am a published author, with articles in the Journal Gazette, Fort Wayne Business Weekly, The Fort Wayne Business Journal, Fort Wayne Woman, and Senior Life. I have given seminars on financial education in conjunction with local business such as Parkview Hospital, Women’s Enterprise, Chamber of Commerce and Turnstone. I am adjunct faculty at IPFW and provide education on financial planning topics to adults and students.
I am currently the Chairperson of the Finance committee with the Cinema Center, as well as being a Director for the Cinema Center. I am also a Director of the Family and Children’s Services, and on the fund raising committee. I am a past Chairperson of the Athena Awards, an organization dedicated to recognizing local men and women that support and promote women in leadership.
In the past I have volunteered with Erin’s House, helping grieving children come to terms with the deaths of those that they love, and I have worked closely with the Kiwanis to raise money and volunteer for local children’s sakes. I was the driving force behind the 2004 Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Red Cedar event, helping the less fortunate children of our city meet, learn from and play with the developmentally disabled children at Red Cedar.
I also love to kayak, go camping, play volleyball, ride bikes, read, sail, attend plays and hike, all of which I try to do as often as possible.
